Log in with adam@savvydealer.com (not with Google)
Go to Savvy Dealer Account
Click on logo on top left, go to account settings
Go to All Companies
Then Create Company
Fill in company name, time zone, and phone number (check website and GMB for number)
Then click Add Users
There will be users selected by default, keep those.
Can add someone from dealership if they want to be added (can also be added after the account is created).
Then click create company
Click on create tracking numbers
Choose the company you just created
Select I’ll use it online
Select On my website
Select calls, keywords and web sessions, NOT calls only
Make sure the number that populates is correct and matches the number you gave before
Click tracking options
Select all visitors
Change to 8 new tracking numbers (Call Rail will tell you later on if you need more than you start with)
Select numbers in a specific area code
Can rename if you want, it defaults to website pool
Click Number Features in bottom right corner
Turn on call recording, don’t change the message. Do NOT select whisper message.
Activate Tracking Number! Yay!
Select Install the JavaScript Snippet
Click on Google Tag Manager under alternate javascript installation options
It will populate a code and tell you how to install
Link to Tag Manager
Log in, find the account you are setting up call rail for
Click on tags on the left hand side, then new.
Name it “CallRail”
Tag Configuration → Custom HTML
Copy code to clipboard
Paste into the HTML
Under triggering, select all pages.
Click Save, then submit then publish, then skip.
Pull up website to ensure the phone number has changed to a tracking number you have created
You have set up call rail. Congratulations.
Phase Two:
Go to settings → Integrations at top
Select Google Ads
Sign in with adam@savvydealer.com
Under Google Ads Account, select the customer
Leave Default values
Then click Activate!
Hit add integrations at top right
Add Google Analytics 4
Copy and paste the homepage URL
Click check installation
Leave all default values, but add an API secret (hover over “Where do I find this?”)
In GA4, click click Admin Settings, and look for data streams
Click the row for the customers account
Scroll down and look for Measurement Protocol API Secrets
Click Read Terms
I Acknowledge
Then create
Name it Call Rail
Then taadaa you get a secret value
Paste that into it’s home
Click activate
Message Ian and let him know you activated a new callrail account for a customer!
